Brandy Bishop Distance Workshops

 —  —

On a course far, far away... Have you ever watched handlers run dogs at a distance and thought that skill was just a faraway dream for you and your copilot? It all starts with simple foundation games and strategic rewarding! We will talk about the different uses of distance and play some short sequences and drills that you can use to give your dog the confidence and understanding to work away from you. We will also discuss which verbal cues are most helpful to teach for this skill and how you can use your rewards effectively to encourage more distance. We will only be using jumps and tunnels in this workshop. Appropriate for any age When: Saturday, May 30; 4-5:30 Limit: 4 teams The distance is strong with this one. Sometimes you need to be lightyears away from your dog! Your dog might be zooming at warp speed, the judge may have gone to the Dark Side and created challenges forcing distance, or you could be playing a game where the rules require it (such as FAST, Chances, or Gamblers). We will run a course that presents some fun distance challenges. To get the most out of this workshop, your dog should already be able to do some distance work that we can build on. All obstacles may be used. When: Saturday, May 30; 6-8:30 PM Limit: 5 teams Register: https://docs.google.com/.../1FAIpQLSe2fc8Ow-Bn.../viewform
